Happy 1st Birthday Wilddarts!

This week marked the first anniversary of Wilddarts! How the last year as flown by!

I would like to thank everyone who reads Wilddarts whether you read us regularly or on the occasion; those who support us and those who have had some dealings with us over the last year.

Drawn clothes and wearable drawings – this is the avant-garde concept of a recent graduate of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie’s fashion program in Amsterdam.

“A lot of details contained within the first sketches are lost during the process of designing and executing clothing. By literally creating clothing patterns from the lines of sketches or sketching the patterns of clothing… the clothing takes characteristics from the sketches.. in order to portray their ultimate meaning: [to] stimulate the imagination.”

Elvira ‘t Hart translates her sketches into a 3 dimensional wearable object through laser-cutting black leather and affixing this to sheer white fabric. This process aims to stay true to the original sketch by retaining its original lines and gives the impression that the garment is drawn directly on the wearer.

‘t Hart released a pre-collection at a show for young artists in Amsterdam and has plans to present another collection based on this same concept in Summer (June-August)

‘t Hart’s clothing are available to order online. They are made to measure and can be custom made to any requests and usually take between 3-6 weeks. (International orders are welcome.)

After a wonderful Christmas and New Years break Wilddarts is back for 2013!

I spent my summer holidays at my beach house opposite the always gorgeous Aldinga beach.. this year has been quite exciting for my family and myself, as we’ve spent the majority knocking down our old house and building a new one! It was great to be able to relax there for two weeks! :)

Being able to take the time to relax and reflex on 2012 and plan for 2013 and beyond was something that I really enjoyed taking the time in doing :)

I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of you that read Wilddarts, those who support us and those who have contributed! 2013 will be an amazing year for Wilddarts so stay tuned to many editorial shoots, MBFWA coverage, a pop up store and much much more!

Welcome to our first Lust List post! Christmas is right around the corner and if you are like me and need some last minute Christmas ideas for one of the HARDEST people to buy for.. look no further!

I have wracked my brain hard to bring you this list which is inspired by my boyfriend of 2 and a half years.

Boys are practical beings, so I always start out by asking mine if there is anything he needs or wants.. this normally results in me buying car parts online or him sending me ebay links! After this I always judge whether I can buy him something else, as a little love you surprise!

This year he has asked for either Alpine speakers or Pioneer car CD system! Here are a few of my extra ideas to get you going!! :) Sometimes you really have to think outside the box.. I can already predict a few girls saying.. a pink candle?! yes ladies! I use to work in a homewares store and once my bf smelt the amazing Sweet Pea and Jasmine fragrance of the Ecoya soy candles he was hooked! He asks me to buy him these all the time!! He burns them more than I do!!
