Lover the label has just released the lookbook for their spring/summer 2012/2013 collection, ‘Persona‘. As always it is filled with their lovely signature lace and floaty fabrics, also incorporating metallic, leather and prints. Designers, Susien Chong and Nick Briand found inspiration for the new collection from the film 3 Women.
Our stand out pieces would have to be the florals below, both in blue and pink, the bomber jacket and the cute lace party dress!!
Enjoy!!

Miami Swim week 2013 has just come to an end.. but lucky for us we have some inspiration for those up and coming warmer months!
As you might have read previously, I am on my way to our sunshine state, Queensland in just over a month! and I am definitely getting excited with all the swimwear (whether it be tops and kaftans, or actual bikinis)
For normal girls (and guys!) we generally go for what we feel is comfortable on our body, prints etc. For me, I don’t like lots of straps and bandages (even though they might look great!) I’m a real beach bum.. (my family has a beach house right on the beach and I spend most of my time there..) which means I love spending days on the beach or out in the backyard… the one thing i really don’t like is tan lines!! I tan really easily and having so many bandages and straps just doesn’t work for me!! (just a mini ramble about my preferences ahah!)
Just a tip also, last summer season here in Australia, I became sort of obsessed with leotards! (especially backless ones!) For music festivals I actually found that wearing a 1 piece bathing suit works equally well – as its made from really comfortable material and looks amazing with shorts or skirts! so keep that in mind when looking at our favourite looks from Miami Fashion Week, SWIM 2013!
ANNA KOSTUROVA
I love the crochet pieces at Anna Kosturova. I am looking out for vests, mini dresses and slips for when I go away! and this is exactly what I am envisioning summer to be this year :)
AQUA DI LARA
Loving the prints in the first bikini! What I am envisioning for summer here, is really bright, colourful prints! Definitely what I am looking out for in the coming months!
Take note of the last two 1pieces, these would look amazing just as they are, or pair with shorts or a skirt for a more dressy look. LOVE the print in the last look by Aqua Di Lara.
AQUARELLA SWIMWEAR
The colours and prints in this collection are lovely. The golds, bright orangy-pinks and the tye dye are stand out pieces.
CIA.MARITIMA
Amazing prints! Just what I want to see!! Loving the dress, the kaftan/mini dress, the colour blocking in the one piece, animal print reowww! and florals.. definitely a strong contender for our favourite collection at Miami Swim 2013!
COTE D’OR SWIMWEAR
The first look caught me by surprise and I’m actually quite obsessed with the neckline! I would probably wear it with a high-waisted long skirt!
DOLORES CORTES
I really enjoy the energy of the prints in the Dolores Cortes collection, I love the clashing of the florals and animal print. The bikinis below I could seriously have in my wardrobe!
DORIT
I quite like the slip below, its simple and versatile.. perfect for those lazy days when you cbf thinking about what to wear, or even straight after the pool or beach, even to dinner :) nice piece!
KEVA | J
I am actually kinda obsessed with this look.. love her head piece, and the colour of the bikini and skirt… I think I need this!
KOOEY AUSTRALIA
Why hello there Kooey ;) After seeing them at MBFWA we now see them at Miami Swim.. and yes.. we picked out some guys for you to look at ;)
I really want to get my boyfriend some new boardies! and these look perfect! I really like the bright colours and length… might need to get him a pair of the blue ones!
L*SPACE BY MONICA WISE
Again, a really nice collection from Monica Wise. I enjoy the cuts of the bikinis and the mixed matched effect. The fringing is nice on the bikini tops and again, prints are a stand out.. definitely some nice options here!
Please try not to get distracted by one of the models POOR facial bronzer… uhhhh!
LULI FAMA
Bright bright bright! we love! I love the wrap bikini.. (wish they would look as amazing with my boobs! haha) The slips and kaftans are also great! Love the patterns and styles. I also LOVE rompers! I have a few really nice ones from last season!
MARA HOFFMAN SWIM
Another contender for our favourite collection at Miami Swim is Mara Hoffman. I love the necklines, the pastal-ish colours and the metallics. The prints are insane !
Sheer materials are a winner in summer and I definitely want this first look! and the little cropped top too!
This collection is amazing!
SUBOO
We love the cute little sheer tops, dresses and vests, the prints on the bikinis
WANT IT ALLLLLL!
VITAMIN A BY AMAHLIA STEVENS
Yeah I know I said I don’t like bandages.. but this one is growing on me! I’d like for someone to buy this one just so I could look at it! But again.. I tan easy, and I don’t want retarded lines haha
WHITE SANDS AUSTRALIA
Another Aussie label, White Sands has some amazing bikini bottoms! I love the high waisted ones (I wouldn’t wear them to the beach.. but I might to a festival or something!)
The last look… GIVE IT TO ME NOW! so bloody hot! Pair that with a tulip skirt or short a-line skirt and I’m done!
WILDFOX SWIM
Who doesn’t love Wildfox?! If your reading Wildfox… please oh please get direct shipping to Australia!
I love their sheer maxis (will definitely be getting one or many of them!) and sheer tops
XTRA LIFE LYCRA BRAND
I enjoy the mix match of patterns, It’s fun and playful, the patterns on the bikinis and one pieces are also really nice! :)

Carine Roitfeld unveils a preview for her highly anticipated CR Fashion Book on its official website as an animated image (or GIF)
As you can see the image features model, Juliet Ingleby in a cemetery covered with a beautiful layer of purple silk catching the wind perfectly. Behind her are three other models covered head to toe in black. Shot by Sebastian Faena and styled by Roitfeld herself.
Roitfeld is building the hype to her magazine launch during New York Fashion Week perfectly in our opinion! We can’t get enough of the amazing images she is releasing!

Some of you might have seen or heard that the first look at the new Yves Saint Laurent branding has been revealed!
Jokes.. thats not it..! hehe!
Making headlines all around the world last month, Hedi Slimane, the new creative director of YSL, announced that he will be changing the name of the iconic brand to Saint Laurent Paris.
To add even more confusion to the mix, the new branding will only be in effect for Ready-To-Wear collections! The old Yves Saint Laurent will still be in place for beauty and the rest of the fashion house. Confusing? yeah a bit!
As I work in advertising, marketing and branding, and am completing my public relations degree.. this is so baffling! The first real rule in branding is that consistency is key!
My Dad is also in advertising and we have had talks about this situation and in his professional opinion (he’s been in the industry for 30 odd years) this is a pretty bold move. If you have to change your branding it has to be for a reason..! The fact that they are still keeping certain areas different is confusing to consumers, not to mention a bit disrespectful to the houses long history!
YSL’s Facebook page has erupted in protest towards the new branding. Individuals calling it “awful”, “cheap”,”off putting” and “unoriginal” whilst a small percentage calling it “the future”
What do you think? Is Slimane right to try and give YSL a new life as Saint Laurent Paris? Do you think this will carry on to the other aspects of the house? Voice your opinion!
